The Tower Ground New Brighton, The
The Tower Ground speedway operated 1933-1935. The complex
was victorian and took it's name from a huge tower 567 feet high
which was higher than the Blackpool tower. The meetings are
described as "open" so there was no team as such. Oliver
Hart took his first riders in the 1930s at the track.
My friend and
researcher Graham Gleave has been enquiring into speedway at the
Tower Ground. The following info is as a result of Graham's
New Brighton Aerial Maps
New Brighton's Tower Grounds stadium site
in recent times.
