Lonsdale Park, Workington, Cumbria 1931-1932 and 1937-1938

Adrian Pavey Says: The devastating floods that hit Workington in 2009 wiped out the bridge that was adjacent to the old Lonsdale Park track used in the 1930s. This flood waters in this photo actually show up the shape of the old banked circuit very well. A new temporary bridge has now been opened but unfortunately the approach road has been built right through the old 1st and 2nd bend (behind the football ground) wiping out all evidence of the banking.
