Carmarthen Speedway

United Counties Showground, Nantyci, Carmarthen, West Wales

Mike Moseley writes: CARMARTHEN

Sadly, the Dragons had but a short life of 3-years in what was unquestionably one of the prettiest venues this sport has ever been blessed with and was located in the towns Showground. Although they never rose above the third tier of competition, the quality of racing was second to none. But as is the case with so many Conference League tracks, the general public just can't be convinced that it's worth a look, and geographically it was doomed to fail.
King's Lynn provided the opposition for the first ever meeting on the 21st April 2002 losing 53-35 to the Welsh side.  The final official fixture took place on the 31st October 2004 in what proved to be a nail-biting 46-46 affair against Buxton.
