Barnsley Speedway

Lundwood, Pontefract Rd., Barnsley, South Yorkshire.  1928-1930

A very basic track with an earth safety fence, no pits or any other facilities.  Barnsley staged the first league match in the UK when Leeds were the opposition in 1929.  The British army used the site for training during the 1939-1945 war.
